An event designed especially for students to explore technology programs at Pittsburg State University.

Event 1 – High School students and Technical School students, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Event 2 – Community College students and transfer students, starting at 10:30 a.m.

“Information Station” for Teachers, Counselors, Parents and Students

Attendees may stop by information booths anytime throughout the day to discuss and obtain information sheets and/or brochures on a variety of topics, including:

  • Scholarship Opportunities for Students – university-wide, college-wide, and departmental scholarship opportunities, as well as outside scholarship opportunities from professional associations and trade organizations, etc. will be shared
  • BAS in Technology (__) and online BS in Workforce Development - unique 2+2 completion degree opportunities for transfer students in PSU’s College of Technology.
  • Careers in STEM, Specifically Technology and Engineering-Related –career opportunities in technology and engineering-related fields.
  • Teacher Assistance through KCCTE – information about Kansas Center for Career and Technical Education services—workshops, resources, mentoring, and coursework, for CTE teachers.
  • Military and ROTC Scholarships Opportunities – representatives available to answer questions
  • Graduate School Opportunities – representatives available to answer questions
  • PSU Information – view books, brochures, financial aid, etc. Admission representatives will be here to answer your questions.

Session 1, “What Transfers Need to Know”

This session addresses questions typically asked by community/technical colleges transfer students ask; different degree program options for transfer students (e.g., completion degrees—BAS-T 2+2, BS in Workforce Development [online]; degree options—BST, BSET, BSE, and BSCTE.

Session 2, Q&A Panel Discussion

PSU faculty and administration host a question and answer session using a panel discussion format. Panel will address questions obtained through registration process as well as field questions from participants in the room.

1:30 PM - 2:30 PM
Session 3, Program Area Visits

Community/technical college students and faculty join PSU faculty and students in respective program areas. This provides opportunity to discuss specific program questions, and see any program components of interest - labs, equipment, software, etc. not seen during open house.
